As we seen from the above image the HTC image sensor size is very big 4 micron-pixels than the rest, it means the big image sensor or ccd a phone camera may have the more light rays it absorb resulting in high resolution photo shots and the small size sensor it may have, less lights absorb resulting in poor or low quality photos. So iPhone 6 has a medium size sensor of 2 micron pixels big enough for high quality great shots. One thing I may add here is that sensor size is only one factor for a great shot there are still other factors responsible for outstanding shots. Generally iPhone is the most responsive phone in the market,
with A8 chip Apple is leading the smartphone market worldwide a place
where other brands are still struggling. If we talk of gaming in iPhone 6 Plus, so the performance is

100MHz faster compared to the processor of A7 which was used in iPhone 5s. But at the
same time it requires low power to run. It is 25% faster in CPU (Central
Processing Units) tasks and 50% faster on the Graphic Processing Units GPU.
Also it is fifty percent more efficient than A7. It includes almost 2 billion transistors
despite doubling the transistors count its die size still remain 15% smaller
than the A7 chip. Although Apple used dual-core processors in it but still it
is more efficient and faster than its rival Samsung’s quad-core or octa-core processors. The reason
behind these all is that there is something interesting and very strange going
on in the world of smart phones. Today when every mobile manufacturer or
company is talking about 4 or 8-core processors phones, still Apple incorporated
a simple dual-core processor in the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. You think just two
cores for one of the world’s top and most expensive phone! When you hear of Xiaomi RedMi Note costs almost less than

The real fact is that the Dual-Core processor which is used in the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus is
the world’s most advanced smartphone processor. The Apple A8 chip which has only 2 cores
that runs at 1.4GHz, is very efficient and fast than that of Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, whichis considered the fastest Anroid mobile phone processor in the world. Although,
Snapdragon 805 chip has 4 cores and runs at 2.7GHz. The reason why Apple’s two core processor
beats all of them with 4 or 8-cores processors is because Apple used a right
architecture in designing its processing chips. Contrary, to this Samsung, Huawei or other major smart phone brands are just counting the
number of cores in their chips. To further understand this I may brief this a little bit here;
The processing power of a mobile or desktop chip doesn’t only
depend on Core Count and the Clock Speed, there are a lot of other factors. The main
aspect is the latency, memory bandwidth and the ability to execute threads in a
more efficient and better way. That is the instruction per cycle (IPC) a
processor can execute.
Since IPC depends on many factors and it is not necessary
that a high clock speed and more cores tends to a better IPC. Apple was launched its own processor with A5 in the year 2011, in this belief that no other company was going on the right path. So
from then it worked on IPC. So if you see it from marketing perspective the
number of cores sounds more attractive and popular than the IPC we are talking
about. Since that time MediaTekand Qualcomm were working on increasing the no. of cores in processors although it was not
necessary for the best performance of a mobile phone.
While Apple’s rivals have chosen the way of increasing core
counts, Apple started on maximizing memory bandwidth. It is not an easy task to
build processors like that.
So, here I will explain how fast is the Apple’s A8 processor
than that of Samsung Galaxy Note 4’s Snapdragon 805 as well as the HTC’s
Snapdragon 615 according to GeekBench.
As you see from the above image that the Snapdragon 805 is
the fastest of all in multi-core processing but that doesn’t mean it will work in real life. There are a lot of mobile
apps which aren’t work on multiple-cores, rather they work more fast and
efficiently on a single core chip. Therefore, iPhone 6 Plus is the fastest
mobile phone than others in the world. Because it works on the same single core
apps formula.
If you remember the year 2006, When there were a big race in
between Intel and AMD. Intel increased the speed of its desktop processors up
to 3GHz, compared to AMD but it still lost the battle to AMD processors in
terms of performance because of low IPC.
Almost this is what happening with mobile processors nowadays. In terms of under-lying
technology, processors used in Anroid phones are just made for marketing purposes and they
are inefficient in performance. While on the other hand Apple’s A8 chip beats the
4-core and even 8-core processors with its only 2-core with 1.4GHz of speed. It
also improved the battery life in all Apple products. Samsung or other Anroid phones can only beat Apple if they change their
processors making policy as well as improve the chip architecture inside the
processors otherwise Apple will always lead them in terms of performance. Not all cores are created equal so don’t try to buy a
smart phone that is powered with more cores. One of the most beautiful feature in all iPhone phones I like
is the click sound when you connect the cable and the power or volume control plus minus
buttons it just produces a solid click sound.
